Owens, Meschke in top 10 entering final day

PEQUOT LAKES -- Megan Owens of Brainerd and Val Meschke of Pequot Lakes are in fifth and eighth place, respectively, after the first day of the Pequot Lakes Invitational girls' golf meet Thursday at the Preserve.

Pequot Lakes was in fifth place with a team score of 360 followed by Staples-Motley in seventh with 372 and Brainerd in 10th with 380.

The final day of the invitational begins 9 a.m. Friday at the Pines at Grand View Lodge in Nisswa.
