Heartland Alliance Church will host a concert featuring the Berge Family 4 p.m. May 1 at the church, 7756 Highland Scenic Road, Baxter.
The Berge Family performs a mix of acoustic bluegrass music and old-time gospel singing. The Bemidji family has performed at many festivals, fairs and churches throughout the United States, including Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo.
The band consists of husband and wife, Ken and Rebecca, along with their two daughters, Melanie and Mindy.

Moms in Touch to host spring event
Moms In Touch International's spring event for Region 2 of Minnesota will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in the fellowship room. The church is at 3150 Fairview Road North in Baxter, off of Highway 210, west of the intersection of Highways 210 and 371.
This year's theme is "Refresh us, O Lord." Guest speaker will be Jewel Hasek, the Minnesota MITI coordinator.
Any women attending are asked to invite their grade school through college-aged daughters to attend with them.

Bethlehem services to be broadcast
Sunday church services at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in northeast Brainerd can be viewed at 2 p.m. every Sunday on Channel 8. Bethlehem, a mid-sized congregation of the ELCA, is across from the East Brainerd Mall in northeast Brainerd.
Spring rally slated
The Brainerd Zone Lutheran Women's Missionary League will hold its spring rally with registration at 8:15 a.m. with the Rev. David Becker leading opening devotions followed by a Bible study with Steve Anderson April 30 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin. Cheryl Kicker will be the speaker. The ingathering will be baby items, maternity clothes and mom gift packs for Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center. The Rev. Frank Milo will lead closing devotion followed by a noon lunch.
Malmo Free Church luncheon set
The Malmo Free Church spring luncheon will be noon April 30. Speaker will be Joey McGuire from Glory Baptist Church who has spent time in the Ukraine conducting women's conferences and is active in women's jail ministry.
Jennie Jorganson, a student at Northwestern Bible College, will provide music.
The church is on Highway 18 off the corner of 18 and 47 on the northeast end of Lake Mille Lacs.

Appalachian project under way
St. Francis Catholic Church will collect socks and underwear for children in Appalachia. There will be a box in the back of the church. Socks and underwear are needed for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. All items must be collected by June 15.
Mother/daughter banquet set
A mother/daughter banquet will be May 4. Tickets will be sold after all Masses at St. Francis and St. Andrew's Catholic churches Saturday and Sunday or at the parish office through April 30. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 5-12 and free for children under age 5.
DDCCW spring convention
The DDCCW spring convention will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and 11 a.m. Liturgy May 17 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Bishop Dennis M. Shnurr will preside. Registration is $12. Reservations must be made by May 9. Deanery presidents should call Leona Barten at (218) 326-1122 with specific numbers by May 10. Parishes are asked to bring their banners and a silent auction item or items by May 16.
Park United Methodist senior activity set
Park United Methodist Church seniors will meet noon Monday at the church for a light lunch and fellowship followed by a program, "Feeding the Senior Citizen" with Teresa Farrell, a registered dietitian from Brainerd Medical Center. She will talk about how nutritional needs change with age and how to achieve good nutritional health.
Sign up on the bulletin board in the church foyer so enough lunch can be prepared.
