One Brainerd and one Crosby-Ironton student have been named among the 1,006 high school seniors throughout the nation who are winners of National Merit $1,000 Scholarships in the 20th annual competition. They are Kerry J. MacArthur of Brainerd abd Terry Slye of Crosby.

Donna Rasmussen, a ninth-grader at Franklin Junior High School, was judged the grand prize winner at the annual Science Fair last night. Her experiment dealt with the effect of antibiotics on various types of bacteria.
