Ole Forside

CROSBY -- Ole Forside, 83, Crosby, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis.

He was born March 17, 1920, in Rindal, Norway, to John and Mary (Grytbak) Forside. He immigrated with his family to Crosby in 1924. He was a World War II veteran. He lived in St. Paul and was affiliated with the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Tucson, Ariz., the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion No. 557 of Deerwood, and the Elks Lodge and the VFW in Brainerd.

Survivors include a son, Donald Forside, White Bear Lake; a daughter, Nancy Mathisrud, River Falls, Wis.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Signe Rinde, Crosby, Elsie Taleen, St. Paul, and Gertrude Block, Crosby.

His wife died earlier.

Services will be noon Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood with Greg Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.

Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
