WALKER -- Myrtle Rose Bjerga, 83, Motley, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, in Walker.
She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in May Township to Louis and Sadie (Alexander) Buchholz. She lived in Motley until she married Chris Bjerga on June 18, 1938. They lived in Staples. In 1950 they started the Bjerga Feed and Seed Store in Motley which they owned and operated. They also owned the restaurant in Motley presently known as Mr. Ed's. After her husband's death in 1968, she continued to live in the Motley and Staples areas.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Trout, Burnsville, Betty Frank, Chicago, and Sharon Dusk, Blaine; two sons, Ervin, Motley, and Arthur, Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Schmidt, Staples.
Her husband; a daughter, Marilyn; two brothers, Henry and Larry; and a sister, Clara, died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Motley with the Rev. Richard Collman officiating. Burial will be in Motley Public Cemetery.
Friends may call an hour before services Saturday at the church.
