Kavanaugh, S-M boys' team win

Pillager's Joe Kavanaugh shot a 77 to win medalist honors in the Pillager Invitational at the Legacy courses at Cragun's Resort on Saturday.

The Staples-Motley Cardinals won the team competition, finishing with a 322.

The Cardinals' Pat Helling shot a 77 and Cory Wilson a 78 to finish in the top five.

Logan Sasse of Pine River-Backus was fifth with a 78.
