Volunteer activities: These 12 youth volunteers from Franklin Junior High have made a great impact on sharing their joy of science and nature with children in K-5th grade. They have volunteered their time Tuesday or Thursday afternoon for 13 weeks. They have helped plan the classroom projects, as well as, led them with the younger students. They participate in the evaluation process and make changes for the program as needed. We love to see their energy, motivation and extension of their knowledge and skills in the science area. It is a great opportunity for them to share what they are doing in the classroom themselves. They serve as positive role models and are building positive relationships with the younger children.
We would like to congratulate: (pictured) Heather Erickson, Jessie Klein, Kirstin Dunham, Stephanie Peterson, Megan Mahlum, Jessica Adair, Joey Phelps, Tyler Zahn, Lavendar Hange, Shane Simmons and (not pictured) Josh Pfanz and Amber Voght.
We volunteer because: "It's fun and we enjoy the kids and being outdoors."
Our most rewarding volunteer experience has been: "Seeing the kids come back each week and more students wanting to participate." "Knowing they are having fun with us."
