WADENA -- Larry Allyn Foley, 65, Wadena, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1934, in Kelliher to William and Alma (Perras) Foley. He married Yvonne (Vonnie) Erpelding on Jan. 11. 1958, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Blackduck. He was a teacher in Goodridge, school counselor in Elbow Lake and superintendent in Kelliher, Byron and Wadena. He was interim superintendent in Park Rapids, Verndale and Herman. He remained in Wadena for 28 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Wadena Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club, Tri-County Hospital Board, Wadena Park Board, Wadena Housing and Redevelopment Board, Minnesota Initiative Fund and Wadena Airport Advisory Board. He was an active member at St. Ann's Church.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, David and Mark, both of Rochester, Gary, Duluth, James, Portland, Maine, and Steven and Thomas, both of Fargo, N.D.; two daughters, DeeAnn Stenlund, Roseville, and Debbie Sauer, Long Prairie; five brothers, Father Gerald, Minneapolis, William, Glastonbury, Conn., Raymond, Clearfield, Vt., Michael, Melrose, and Alan, Red Lake Falls; three sisters, Mary Kennedy, Minneapolis, Patricia Ruffing, Maple Grove, and Beverly Van Loh, Pine Haven, Wyo.; and 18 grandchildren.
His parents died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Fathers Gerald Foley and Albert Holmes will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at St. Ann's Parish Center. Arrangements are with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.
