Equalization board will meet April 30 at city hall
The Board of Appeal and Equalization of the city of Brainerd will meet at 10 a.m. April 30 at the city hall council chambers.
The purpose of the meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the city has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and whether corrections need to be made.
Individuals who feel the classification of their property is incorrect should first contact their assessor's office to discuss concerns, and if not satisfied by these results may appear before the Board of Appeal and Equalization. Board of Appeal and Equalization officials said that generally, an appearance before the local board is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the county board.
