Musical in Emily

EMILY -- Emily Area Community Choir will present "After The Cross -- A Musical of Hope" at 7 p.m. April 30 at the Emily Wesleyan Church.

St. Paul's Easter services

St. Paul's Episcopal Church will celebrate Easter at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. At 9:30 a.m., there will be a parish brunch. St. Paul's youth group, SPY, donated a basket of toiletries to the Women's Center for Easter.

Community service

Students in kindergarten through seventh grades were scheduled to clean up the neighborhood of St. Francis School on Thursday, but because of the weather the clean-up project was postponed for a later date. They had planned to clean up their neighborhood as a Lenten project.

Camp party night

Park United Methodist Church will have a camp party night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, especially for students in grades one through 12, but everyone is welcome. Sing camp songs, play camp games, win door prizes and hear about going to church camps like Star Lake, Northern Pines, Decision Hills, Koronis, Boundary Waters and sport camps, drama camps and horse camps.

Easter SonRise service

Park United Methodist Church will have its SonRise Easter service at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Young musicians will play their instruments for the prelude, Sunday school choirs will sing several songs, the JUMY's (sixth- through eighth-graders) will perform a dance routine, the GUMY's (second- through fifth-graders) will do the flag processional and recessional and the BUMY's (ninth- through 12th-graders) will be in charge of the sermon, offering Scripture and prayers. Following the service, breakfast will be served.

Lock-in slated

There will be a lock-in at Park United Methodist Church on May 5 for youths in grades six through 12 and adults. There will need to be one adult for each four youths. Registration will begin at 7 p.m. that day. This is a must sleep lock-in as Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is a work day at Star Lake Campground.

The event will include games, food, work, a message and meeting new friends. Bring a sleeping bag and clothes for working and eating outdoors. Preregistration is required for groups. Park Prayers

Park Prayers will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Park United Methodist Church for devotions, intercessory prayer and Pastor Rory Swenson will speak on Easter and prayer time.
