BEMIDJI - Rob Veith and Desmond Janousek each had two hits and Kyle Crocker got the win in relief as the Brainerd Warriors defeated the Lumberjacks 11-3 in Section 8-3A baseball Saturday.
Veith finished 2-for-3 with two walks and one RBI and made several nice plays in the infield.
Janousek was 2-for-2 with two runs, a double, two stolen bases, a walk and two RBIs.
Nate Smolke drove in two runs and Cody Stange had a double for the Warriors (4-0 overall).
Crocker pitched 3.1 innings, allowing no runs and two hits. He struck out two and walked one. He replaced starter Joel Martin with two out in the fourth and got the final out with one pitch.
In the first the Warriors scored on a wild pitch. Janousek's RBI single in the second put Brainerd ahead 2-0.

After Bemidji (4-2) scored three in the bottom of the fourth to climb within 4-3 the Warriors added four runs in the fifth. Tate Rusk had an RBI single, Janousek an RBI double, a wild pitch scored Rusk and Veith had an RBI single.
In the seventh Alex Rohde had an RBI single and Smolke delivered a bases-loaded two-run single.
Martin allowed two earned runs and six hits, struck out two and walked one in 3.2 innings.
