Century 21 Brainerd Realty recently received the 2006 Multi Million Dollar Club Award for outstanding sales performance in the Century 21 system.
The Lakeland Broker Council honored Joe and Taylor Fitterer and Mary McKay as recipients of the award.
LaVerne Borg, a broker with Century 21, also earned the award. Borg has earned the Centurian award three times during his 29 years in real estate in the Brainerd lakes area.
Annual Habitat for Humanity meeting set

Lakes Area Habitat For Humanity will host several meetings for people interested in homeownership, with the next meeting at 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Habitat office in Brainerd.
Heather Meyer, family services coordinator with Habitat, will present information and answer questions about Habitat and the homeownership application process. Applications will be available at the meeting.
Those interested in learning more about Habitat for Humanity or how you, a family member or a friend could become a homeowner of an affordable home are encouraged to attend.

Rain barrels and compost bins for sale
The Northland Arboretum will sell rain barrels and compost bins beginning May 1, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Rain barrels are $88.80 each and the compost bins are $55.10, tax included.
The plastic rain barrels are 34 inches tall, 23 inches in diameter and can hold up to 50 gallons of water.
The Earth Machine compost bins are made from an ultraviolet resistant polyethylene with 50 percent recycled content. They are 32 inches in diameter, 32 inches tall, can hold up to 80 gallons and come with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty.
Northland Arboretum workshop scheduled

The Northland Arboretum will be hosting a workshop on composting, mulch and harvesting rain water, presented by Orv Hastad, Jody Hedtke and Jackie Froemming. Crow Wing County Master Gardeners Christine Rasmussen and Sue Sergent will serve as volunteers.
The workshop will be from 6:30-9 p.m. May 9. Cost is $10 for Northland Arboretum members and $15 for non-members.
