Stohr in serious condition following collision

MINNEAPOLIS -- Michael Stohr, the 29-year-old Baxter man who was seriously injured in a vehicle accident Monday near Pillager, has been upgraded to serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, a hospital spokeswoman reported Tuesday.

Stohr was driving a West Brainerd Service tow truck on Highway 210 at Crow Wing River Drive just east of Pillager when he crossed the centerline and was struck head-on by a semi-truck. The State Patrol reported it was unknown why Stohr crossed the centerline. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision, the State Patrol reported.

The driver of the semi-truck wasn't injured.

Pedestrian hurt at gas station

BAXTER -- An 81-year-old St. Paul man was injured after being backed over by a vehicle about 4:30 p.m. Monday at Little Dukes convenience store on Excelsior Road in Baxter, the Baxter Police Department reported.

Cecil Forschen was transported by North Ambulance to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and then transferred to another hospital. It was unknown which hospital he was transferred to.

The driver of the vehicle, Sherri Cash, 39, Motley, wasn't injured.
