Gathering with Pastor David Schoessow will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake. It will be an informal study of the major teachings of Scripture.

Hidden Mountain Center retreat

The House of Prayer retreat will be April 27-29 and will include Leading with Spirit. James Michael Grossman, director of Hidden Mountain Center, will host. It is open to the general public but limited space is available. For prices and additional information, call 828-6479.

Mortgage burning

Trinity Lutheran Church, Brainerd, will have a mortgage burning celebration May 6. One festival worship service will take place at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck barbecue. This day will mark the elimination of mortgage debt about 20 years ahead of schedule.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church

St. Paul's Episcopal Church will begin to study and discuss the book of Genesis at the adult forum at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. This follows the 8:30 a.m. Holy Communion. Children's chapel begins at 9:15 a.m., allowing parents to attend class, followed by 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion and music.

St. Paul's Guild will host a "Spring Fling" luncheon at 12:30 p.m. April 28 at the church. Reservations are requested. Call 829-3834.
