No. 1 CLC sweeps Itasca

The Central Lakes College Raiders continued their winning ways Friday as they swept a double-header from Itasca by scores of 4-1 and 7-4 in college softball Friday.

With the sweep, the Raiders, who are ranked No. 1 in NJCAA Division III, remained perfect in the division at 8-0 and are 23-1 overall.

In game one, Ali Mathison picked up the win on the mound as she gave up one earned run and struck out three.

Mathison helped her own cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Malorie Riewer was 1-3 with a triple and run scored and Brittany Thorson was 1-3 with two RBIs for the Raiders.

Olivia Graham earned the save for the Raiders.

Malorie Riewer picked up the win for CLC.

In the game two win, Thorson was 2-4 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI, Lindsey Latour was 2-3 with a run and RBI and Katie Turpin was 2-3 with an RBI. Kjelsy Loeffler and Calleigh Johnson each doubled for the Raiders.

Riewer got the win as she gave up three earned runs and two walks while striking out five.

Graham picked up her second save of the day as she pitched two innings, giving up one run.
