Pioneer boys, girls take third place

PIERZ - Pierz Pioneers girls' and boys' track and field teams placed third at the Pioneer Invite Friday.

Wins by Kayla Kapsner (high jump) and Kaari Jensen (long jump) paced the Pierz girls. A second place (100-meter dash) and third (200 dash) by Jake Nelson led Pierz.

Crosby-Ironton's Peter Vukelich won the 1600 run to lead the Ranger boys to seventh. Christina Mapson won the 800 run to lead the C-I girls to sixth.

Aitkin's Lauren Landrus won the 3200 run to help the Gobbler girls to eighth.
