The Encore Arts Association will host its 10th annual Children's Art Fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Brainerd High School.
Admission is by a food-shelf donation.
Students in preschool through fifth grade can participate in hands-on activities and bring their completed art home. Balloons, cotton candy, food and refreshments will be available.
All children must be accompanied by an adult or youth 16 or older.

Acrylic painting is next Dialogue topic
AITKIN - Bonnie Cutts will give a Dialogue with the Arts presentation on acrylic painting at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Jaques Art Center in Aitkin.
Admission is free.
Minnesota artist Cutts graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio arts. She has been exhibiting professionally since 1980. She was trained by Golden Artist Colors, an international professional-grade acrylic paint maker.

Student art, craft show slated in Staples
STAPLES - The Freshwater Education District Student Art Show and the Staples Rotary Arts & Crafts Show will be from 7-9 p.m. April 26, 4 -9 p.m. April 27, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. April 28 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 29 at Centennial Auditorium in Staples.
The student show will feature work by students from Bertha-Hewitt, Browerville, Eagle Valley, Grey Eagle, Long Prairie, Motley, Pillager, Staples and Verndale.
'Migration' exhibit to open April 28 at JAC
"Fossils" is among the acrylic paintings by Bonnie Cutts, who will give a Dialogue with the Arts presentation Tuesday in Aitkin.
AITKIN - "Migration," an exhibit of paintings by Jerry Raedeke and ceramics by Cyrus Swann, will run April 28-June 2 at the Jaques Art Center in Aitkin.
An artist reception and talk will be from 1-4 p.m. April 28.
Nisswa's Raedeke was selected from a national search for inclusion in the National Wildlife Federation Show in Washington, D.C. Jerry Raedeke has donated 63,000 prints and 131 original paintings to Ducks Unlimited, generating approximately $5 million for wetland restoration projects. He supports various conservation efforts and organizations.
Pine River's Swann focuses on ceramics, including pottery, sculpture and installation. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bemidji State University.

Fourth-graders' art at FAC
The Riverside Elementary School Fourth Grade Art Show will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. May 8 at the Crossing Arts Alliance Gallery in Brainerd's Franklin Arts Center.
The students' two- and three-dimensional art reflects famous artists they have studied. Students will be available to guide visitors through the exhibit.
Baxter artist's work in BSU anthology
BEMIDJI - Artwork by Suzanne Wipperling of Baxter will be included in Bemidji State University's upcoming "Dust and Fire" anthology of poetry, prose and art.
Wipperling will have two pieces published - "Royal Vale Cup on Lace" and "Light Play."
Grant deadlines May 15
STAPLES - Five Wings Arts Council deadlines are May 15 for production/sponsorship, individual artist and general operating/capital grants.
Deadlines for small grants are the first day of each month.
The council serves Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties.
