Michael Steven Stohr was driving a West Brainerd Service tow truck on Highway 210 at Crow Wing River Drive just east of Pillager when he crossed the centerline and was struck head-on by a semi-truck. The State Patrol reported it was unknown why Stohr crossed the centerline. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision, the State Patrol reported.
Stohr was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital and then to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where late Monday he was reported in critical condition with head and neck injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck, James Hasselbring, 67, Endeaver, Wis., wasn't injured.
Four hurt in collision
PIERZ -- Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision about 2 p.m. Sunday on Highway 25 at Morrison County Road 47 north of Pierz.
In one vehicle, the driver, Farren Bass, 31, Merrifield, and his two passengers, McKenzi Bass, 25, Merrifield, and a 3-year-old child were injured and transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Information on the conditions of Farren Bass and the 3-year-old child were unavailable Monday. McKenzi Bass was treated at the hospital and released.
The driver of the other vehicle, Patricia Campbell, 50, Sandstone, was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where Monday she was reported in fair condition.
