BROOKLYN PARK -- After traveling more than 700 miles to play four games this week, the Central Lakes College Raiders crushed the North Hennepin Norse 10-4 and 16-0 in Southern Division softball Tuesday.
The Raiders racked up 14 hits, including an inside-the-park grand slam by Destiny Smith who went 2-for-5 with four RBI. CLC's Amy Martinson was 3-for-3 and teammate Becki Wagner was 3-for-4 including two triples.
In the second game, the Raiders had 11 hits. Wagner again was the big hitter at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI. Erin Thiesse was 2-for-3 with four runs scored.
"The girls have done a lot of traveling in these past two days, so they are looking forward to a home game," said Raiders coach Dennis Eastman.
The Raiders improve to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the Southern Division. They will host Riverland at 3:30 p.m. on Friday for their first home games of the season.
