BACKUS -- David Stanley Duff, 55, of Ponto Lake in rural Backus, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
He was born Jan. 13, 1945, in Minneapolis, to Stanley and Norma Duff. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School and later received technical training in Teletype repair at Fort Gordan, Ga. He was an Army veteran and a member of the First Lutheran Church of Pine River.
Survivors include his two children, Morgan and Stewart Duff, both of Pine River; two brothers, Richard Duff, Big Sky, Mont., Phillip Duff, St. Paul; and his father, New Hope.
His mother died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Lutheran Church in Pine River with Pastor John Twiton officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Northland Funeral Home in Pine River and one hour before the service at the church Thursday.
