NISSWA - Eldora Mae (Hengel) Clark, 74, of Nisswa, peacefully entered heaven on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Eldora was born July 9, 1934, to Elmer (Al) and Violet (Erickson) Hengel. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Fairview Township until eighth grade and then went to Pillager High School, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 50 years, Jerry. They united in marriage on Oct. 27, 1951, and were lifelong residents in the same house on the west side of Gull Lake.
Over the years she was employed at Madden's, assisting Jerry at Somody Supply, Causeway on Gull (Employee of the Year 2003) and as a private housekeeper.
Eldora enjoyed spending time with her family, supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events, crocheting, taking care of her flowers, making her famous potato salad (half no onion for Brad and Chad) and feeding the birds (sand raccoons).
Eldora will be sadly missed by her children: Brad (Cathy) Clark, Brainerd, Deb (Ron) Bialke, Brainerd, Kevin (Sherry) Clark, East Gull Lake, Pam (Richard) Markham, Pequot Lakes;
Brother Tug (Judy) Hengel, Pillager, sister-in-law Emily Dehler, Pierz; brother-in-law Mike (Jean) Clark, Little Falls;
Grandchildren, Chad (Lavonne) Clark, Travis (Jill) Clark, Justin (Lexi) Clark, Christopher Pietz, Rhonda (Scott) Kimman, Jenna (Tyler) Clark, Jake Clark, Chelsi, Courtney, Ryan, Sarah and Emily Markham;
Step-grandchildren, Jason, Jer, Jamie and Johnna Johnson, Jennifer Larson, Shawnna Johnson and Jason Bialke;
Great-grandchildren, Caitlin Clark, Blake and Jerzy Clark, Taylor Clark, Jessa and Josephine Kimman;
Step great-grandchildren, Brady, Brianna, JP and Jack Johnson, Cole and Mataya Larson, Joshua and Nicholas Bialke, Shakyra and Kaylee Johnson, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Eldora was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Violet Hengel, husband Jerry, first born son Jerry Jr., brother Mark Hengel, grandson Jason Clark, nephew Joseph Hengel and special friend Kathy Perona.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, from 5-8 p.m. at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with visitation one hour prior to funeral services. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
