MELROSE - Robert Bell shot a nine-hole 36 to take medalist honors and help lead the Pierz Pioneers boys' golf team to a first-place finish at the Melrose Invitational golf tournament Thursday.
The Pioneers shot 165 as a team to take the championship by 12 strokes.
Brandon Meyer's 42 was good for fourth place, Jake Otremba's 43 was seventh and Eric Andres' 44 was eighth as Pierz had four golfers in the top eight.
