ST. MICHAEL -- Shayne G. Erickson, age 30, of St. Michael, Minn., formerly of Barnesville, Minn., died on Friday, April 15, 2005, from injuries sustained in a car-motorcycle accident in Corcoran, Minn.
Shayne was born Nov. 29, 1974, in Moorhead, Minn., to Gary and Debra (Davis) Erickson. Shayne graduated in 1993 from Barnesville High School. He joined the Army in July, 1993, and served active duty for two years in Colorado. Shayne returned to Barnesville in 1995 and served in the Army Guard. He moved to Brainerd, Minn., and was employed by ABC Seamless. He was currently employed with Hamline-Hoyt Service in St. Paul, Minn. Shayne met Heather Gustafson in 1992 and they were married Aug. 23, 1997. The gem of Shayne's life, Jadaya Ann "jade" was born on Aug. 24, 1998. Shayne loved being a dad and was overjoyed at the expectation of being a father again in November. He loved working on cars, NASCAR, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Shayne gave everything of himself and will be deeply missed by all.
Shayne is survived by his wife, Heather; daughter, Jadaya; mother, Debra (Craig) Erickson of Fargo, N.D.; father, Gary (Stacy) Erickson, Barnesville; brother, Nathan (Desi) Erickson of Barnesville, Minn.; father-in-law and mothers-in-law, Kevin and Anne Gustafson of Minneapolis and Diane Calloway of Fargo, N.D.; sister-in-law, Tonya Names, Fargo, N.D.; and brother-in-law, Christopher Ness, Fargo, N.D.; maternal grandparents, Larry Sr. and Pearl Davis, Barnesville; paternal grandmother, Darlene Erickson, Barnesville; maternal great-grandmother, Florence Erdmann, Barnesville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and countless friends.
Shayne was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Earl Erickson; great-grandparents and three of his very close friends.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Barnesville, Minn. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with prayers service at 8 p.m. at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville. Visitation will continue at the church from 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of services. Interment will be in the Barnesville City Cemetery.
