Frank Oreskovich

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Frank Oreskovich, 90, of Black River Falls and formerly of Crosby, Minn., died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He was born on April 30, 1918, in Manganese, Minn., to Mike and Marie (Petik) Oreskovich. He married Theresa J. Valentino on March 9, 1940, in Brainerd, Minn. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Frank and his family moved to Black River Falls in 1969 to work as a foreman for Inland Steel. Frank enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, fishing, hunting and camping; he also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife; four sons, Roger (Julie) of Embarrass, Minn., David (Linda) of Melrose, Wis., Donald (Monique) of Hudson, Wis., and Randy (Audrey) of Black River Falls; one sister, Teresa Schwankle of Brainerd, Minn., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce and Robert; three brothers, Michael, Joe, Victor; and a sister, Corrine.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby, Minn. The Rev. Howard Eisel will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation was Thursday at the Torgerson Funeral Home in Black River Falls, Wis. Friends also may call on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, Minn.
