Posted: Thursday, April 17, 2003

An adult from Olmsted County is the seventh suspected case of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, in Minnesota.

The patient is not seriously ill and recovering at a hospital, the Minnesota Department of Health said Wednesday. It was the first new suspected case of SARS in the state in more than a week.

So far, four adults and three children have been reported to the state Health Department with possible cases of SARS. All had recently traveled to parts of Asia where the outbreak has originated.
