ROYALTON -- Luke L. Benusa, 82, Royalton, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Little Falls to Peter and Mary (Hanig) Benusa. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1939. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served until 1946. He worked in construction. He married Evelyn Warzecha on May 19, 1948, in Lake Charles, La. They moved to Little Falls in the 1950s. They moved to Montana from 1964-1967 and then moved back to Royalton. He retired in 1982. He was active in the Royalton American Legion Post No. 137. He was a member of the Bricklayers Local No. 13 in Little Falls.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Benusa, Duluth, and James Benusa, Royalton; a daughter, Mary Krueger, Royalton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
His wife; and a sister, Delphine, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Bowlus. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post No. 137.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., and an hour before services Monday at Brenny-Karlinski Funeral Home in Royalton.
