The Mississippi Headwaters Board has completed the update of the MHB Comprehensive Plan, which will take effect July 1.
To implement the plan in the most efficient and effective way, the MHB has scheduled several meetings to look at various aspects of the plan and clarify or improve the processes used to implement the plan. Draft checklists for implementation will be discussed.
The public is invited to attend one or more meetings depending on the areas of interest. Coffee, juice and treats will be provided.
Following are the topics, groups, meeting times and dates, as well as locations:
Highway and Roads (road and trails checklists) -- highway engineers, township officials, CNF; 9 a.m.-noon April 30; commissioners' meeting room, Cass County Courthouse, Walker.
Development and Water Quality (unified site plan checklist) -- zoning planners, Soil and Water Conservation District, water planners, DNR hydrologists; 9 a.m.-noon April 26; commissioners' meeting room, Cass County Courthouse, Walker.
Multi-jurisdictional Communication and Partnership (annexation and complaint process) -- river township and city officials, county zoning officials; 9 a.m.-noon May 3; sheriff's department meeting room, Cass County Courthouse, Walker.
