One hurt in collision

ONAMIA - One person was injured in a two-vehicle, rear-end collision about 5 p.m. Sunday on Highway 169, four miles north of Mille Lacs Grand Casino in Mille Lacs County, the State Patrol reported.

The accident happened after a northbound vehicle, driven by Rosella Maile, 63, Avon, had stopped to make a left turn and was struck by a vehicle driven by Joseph Riehle, 49, Aitkin. After being struck, Rosella Maile's vehicle was spun around and went into Mille Lacs Lake, the State Patrol reported.

A passenger in Joseph Riehle's vehicle, Fredrick Riehle, 88, Aitkin, suffered shock and hypothermia and was transported to the Riverwood HealthCare Center in Aitkin.

Joseph Riehle, Rosella Maile and a passenger in her vehicle, Edwin Maile, 69, Avon, weren't injured, the State Patrol reported.

Assisting the State Patrol were the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Department and the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department.
