Dunphy's 43 paces Warriors to second place

LITTLE FALLS -- Emily Dunphy turned in a score of 42 to lead the Brainerd Warriors girls' golf team to a second-place finish in a Central Lakes Conference meet Tuesday.

"The course played tough," said Warriors coach Jean Martin. "The scores for us were respectable, but we still see room for improvement."

Brainerd's Nikki Bender shot a 44 and Megan Owens a 49.

Paige Johnson of Little Falls was one shot off the pace as she carded a 43 to help the Flyers to a fourth-place finish.

Team scores -- 1-St. Cloud Tech 182, 2-Brainerd 186, 3-Alexandria 187, 4-Little Falls 196, 5-Sartell 199, 6-Willmar 205, 7-Rocori 219, 8-St. Cloud Apollo, Sauk Rapids INC.

Medalist -- Molly Leland (Alex) and Katie Backes (Roc) 42s
