FBI fugitive arrested

Posted: Tuesday, April 16, 2002

A 46-year-old man wanted on FBI and other warrants was arrested at a local bar Friday.

Keven Thorin, formerly of Brainerd, wanted by the FBI for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge and by Ramsey County for criminal sexual conduct with force or coercion, was arrested after being identified at John's Tavern by Brainerd Investigator Bruce London.

London stopped at the southeast Brainerd bar to perform a routine gambling compliance check and recognized Thorin, whose address is unknown, from a photograph provided by the Minnesota Fugitive Task Force about a month earlier.

Thorin didn't resist arrest, Brainerd Sgt. David Holtz reported. He is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail.
