The Crow Wing County Historical Society's 77th annual meeting, dinner and silent auction will be April 27 in the Pine Room, adjacent to Gary's Sports Bar & Grill in Ironton.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with social hour and cash bar. Dinner, which includes a salad, roll and butter, baked chicken and glazed ham, red potatoes, vegetable, cheesecake and coffee, will follow at 6:30 p.m. During the social hour and throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on donated items.
Steve Weber, manager of the Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area, and Richard Snook, Croft Mine Historical Park administrator, will present the program "Digging into the Past & Future." The program and slides will be on the history of area mining, including the present day management of the vacated mines.
Reichert Bus Service will provide a bus to shuttle guests to Ironton. The bus will leave the Crow Wing County Historical Museum in Brainerd at 5 p.m. for Ironton and will return after the meeting. This is a free service, donated by Reichert Bus Service. If you wish to ride the bus, note it with your reservation.
To make a reservation, call the museum at 829-3268 or send a $25 check per person for dinner to CWCHS, P.O. Box 722, Brainerd MN 56401. Deadline for reservations is April 20. No tickets will be sold at the door.
