More than 200 Brainerd High School students got their moment in the "Senior Spot Light" on Monday during the annual Fine Arts Recognition banquet at BHS.
The Fine Arts reception honors students in visual arts, creative writing, debate, drama, mock trial, band, choir, orchestra, Fifth Street Journal, Brainonian and speech.
Four of the fine arts programs presented a seven-minute snippet of their art. The BHS Drama Club presented an excerpt from "The Philadelphia" that will be part of its spring play; Chamber Orchestra performed "Romantic Serenace"; mock trial performed a portion of its criminal case; and Fifth Street Journal students talked about how the newspaper process worked.

The fine arts advisers presented awards that included:

• Chelsie Skorich, drama award.
• Brittany Kohlmeier, mock trial award.
• Morgan Anderson, Elijah Johnson, Rebecca Yeh, Phillip Yeh, Cody Granley, Elena Pennington and Skorich, music awards.
• Sara Gardner and Cameron Pedersen, TV Productions.
• Sara Parsons, Amanda Strong, Ronia Gramer and Mariah Warwas, art awards.
