According to a recent report, Army re-enlistment is up 137 percent year-over-year (Fox News, March 19th). Sixty-seven thousand volunteers have re-enlisted during the last year. According to the report, a big factor is that our soldiers are training and fighting as units and feel comfortable staying in the "brotherhood." Especially helpful is the large number of lower rank officers, captain and below, who have decided to re-up.
More positive news - military pay is good. The sign-up money my niece received helped pay off some of her college loans. Other patriotic females need to know that the advancement in her military career has not been slowed down by the fact she's married and has a "growing" family.
