Edna M. Gottsch

Edna M. Gottsch, 87, Brainerd, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Mille Lacs Nursing Home of Onamia.

She was born Aug. 16, 1912, in Platte Lake Township to August and Margaret (Lamphere) Imm. She attended school in Platte Lake District No. 111. She married Frank Gottsch on Feb. 12, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Nebraska and farmed until 1946, when they returned to Brainerd. She was trained as a psychiatric technician at the Brainerd State Hospital and worked there for many years.

Survivors include five daughters, Edith Arnold and Alice Baker, both of Brainerd, Shirley Moody, Baxter, Betty Waller, Clarkfield, and Mabel Brown, Protem, Mo.; two sons, Harry Gottsch, Brainerd, and Steven Gottsch, Nisswa; 36 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Jennie Bush, Brainerd, Irene Davis, Mora, Frances Rhode, Spokane, Wash., and Lavina Saathoff, Ackley, Iowa.

Her husband, two sons, Arthur and Franklin, a grandchild, three sisters, Daisy, Bertha and Hazel, and four brothers, George, Clarence, Arthur and Karl, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home of Brainerd with Pastor Dave Gouldin and Pastor Lynn Broughton officiating. Burial will be in Dykeman Cemetery.

Friends may call at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday.
