MARION, Ill. (AP) -- Three northeastern Minnesota residents were killed and one seriously hurt when their sport utility vehicle flipped over several times on Interstate 57 in southern Illinois while they were on their way to Orlando, Fla.
The southbound vehicle carrying six people went off the right side of the highway just before 6 a.m. Thursday.
''It's possible the driver fell asleep and then, at the last moment, jerked it back, causing it to roll over,'' Illinois State Police Lt. Charles Mays said.
Killed were the driver, Marcia Braun, 45; her husband Thomas, 45; and a family friend, Ashley Abrahamson, 13 -- all of Cloquet, Minn.
The Brauns' daughter Gretchen, 13, was in stable condition Thursday at Marion Memorial Hospital.
