The Palm Sunday weekend service schedule for the Brainerd Laestadian Lutheran Church is as follows: 7 p.m. today and Saturday with refreshments served, and 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday with lunch and refreshments served. Guest speaker will be Dr. John Koivukangas of Oulu, Finland.
St. Paul's youth group
St. Paul's Episcopal Church youth group will help serve food at the Soup Kitchen tonight. Following the 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday service on Sunday, Jim Perrin will conduct a class on braiding palms. Call St. Paul's at 829-3834 for more information.
St. Andrew's will have a mother/daughter banquet May 10. Mass will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a catered dinner will be at 6:15 p.m. The program to honor past CCW presidents will be at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold after all the Masses on Saturday and Sunday, and April 29 and 30. Cost: $7 adults, $3.50 children under 12.
Terrill Haddix fund
BACKUS -- Pastor Terrill Haddix of the Backus Church of the Nazarene was involved in a serious automobile accident, resulting in many threatening injuries. His life is no longer in danger; however, his injuries will require many weeks or months of hospitalization, therapy and recovery.

Daughters of Isabella
Daughters of Isabella State Conference will be April 28-29 in Cloquet. Memorial Mass for all deceased members will be April 28 at Queen of Peace Church of Cloquet. Those attending from Brainerd are Ellen Bible, Dolores Kuchera and Evelyn St. Onge.
Park United Methodist Church will host Tim Collins for a concert of contemporary Christian music at 7 p.m. Sunday. A freewill offering will be taken.
Services for Our Lady of Lourdes Church during Holy Week are as follows: individual private reception of the sacrament of reconciliation all day Wednesday, Communal Penance service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, 7 p.m. services Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday Mass at 10 a.m.
Lutheran school gets funds
BAXTER -- Aid Association for Lutherans recently presented $1,550 to Family of Christ Lutheran School in Baxter through the AAL Member Gift-Matching Program. The total reflects AAL's matched portion of contributions received from members during the fourth quarter of 1999.
Garrison church services
Easter services for Community Alliance Church of Garrison will be 7 p.m. on Good Friday, 8 a.m. for Easter breakfast, and 9 a.m. for the Easter worship service.
New church building
Light of the Cross Lutheran Church of Garrison will have its first service in its new church on Easter Sunday. Maundy Thursday services will be 7 p.m. with the Communion service at the Garrison Activity Center, the Good Friday Tenebrae service will be 7 p.m. at the Activity Center and Easter Sunday's Festival Communion service will be 9:30 a.m. in the new church. There will be an Easter egg hunt following the service.
Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd will celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem with palm processionals at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday. Music will be provided by the youth choir Joyful Noise.
Palisade church services
PALISADE -- Bethel Lutheran Church of Palisade will celebrate Palm Sunday with Holy Communion at 9:30 a.m. Those attending will receive a palm branch to commemorate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. Those attending the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will receive an olive-wood cross fashioned as a necklace and imported from Palestine. Both services will be at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be 7:30 a.m. with an Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. The Holy Communion worship service will be at 9:30 a.m. The final soup supper will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Parents to meet
CROSSLAKE -- Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church of Crosslake invites parents to discuss and share resources for children ages 6-10 at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Coffee will be provided.
