Central Lakes College computer technology faculty and advisers will host information and planning sessions Monday for new and returning students on the Brainerd campus.
The sessions, which will be held from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m., will provide help for new registering students this summer and fall, as well as current students planning schedules to meet academic goals.
Computer careers are some of the fastest growing occupations in Minnesota, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Median annual wage earnings for information technology careers are $41,184-$58,448.
Job growth is expected to be between 30 and 37 percent for many information technology career fields, twice the growth rate for all other occupations in the state over the next seven years, reports the U.S. Department of Labor.
This forecast is driven by the development of new technologies, small-business networks, and security systems.
