Gladys Margaret Horn, 89, Verndale, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Scotia, Neb., to Edward and Pauline (Wache) Miller. She lived in Chamberlain, S.D., and graduated from Reliance High School. She worked in Deadwood, S.D. They moved to Verndale in 1933. She married Victor Horn on July 24, 1935, in Verndale. After her marriage, they lived on the family farm that her husband's parents purchased in 1913. They retired from farming in 1980. Her husband died Dec. 31, 1994. She lived at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. She was one of the original members of the River Trail Riders Saddle Club. She was active in the Hewitt Senior Citizens and Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Patty Pilgrim, Verndale, and Sharon, St. Paul; two sons, Ronald, Colfax, Wis., and Thomas, Maple Grove; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Miller, Monterey, Calif., and Frank Miller, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and two sisters, Leone Shinabarger, Long Prairie, and Rosalie Claseman, Newton, Iowa.
Her husband; three brothers, Harvey, Robert and Myron; and a sister, Laverna, died earlier.
Services were today at Verndale United Methodist Church. Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha.
