PINE RIVER -- Marvin Myron Myers, 78, Pine River, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
He was born June 10, 1924, in Tyler to Charles and Blanche (Stone) Myers. He enlisted in the Army in 1946, serving during World War II. In Japan, he served as a Tech 5 electrician. After his discharge, he married Arla Lenora Heath on Oct. 19, 1949, in Marshall. In 1951, they moved to Pine River and farmed for 10 years. They moved to Worthington where they owned and operated the M and A Lounge. They returned to Jenkins and later settled back in Pine River. He was a member of the Jenkins VFW and Pequot Lakes American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jennifer Clasen, Ideal, and Cheryl Schmidt, Ocheyedan, Iowa; a son, Daron Myers, Russell; and three brothers, Harold Myers, Sheboygan, Wis., Ralph Myers, Flandreau, S.D., and Elmer Myers, South Dakota.
A sister, Eunice Knox; and two brothers, Richard and Verle, died earlier.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River with Pastor John Twiton officiating.
Friends may call an hour before services Sunday at the funeral home.
