Deanery spring convention
McGREGOR - The Brainerd Deanery Spring Convention for the Council of Catholic Women will begin with registration at 9 a.m. April 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church in McGregor. Guest speaker will be Pat Bluth with a presentation on her new book "From Pain to Peace: A Journey from Rage to Forgiveness." This will be followed by Mass at 11 a.m. and lunch at noon. A short business meeting will take place after lunch. Cost for registration and lunch is $10. Call your reservation in to your parish president by Tuesday.
Easter Masses at All Saints Catholic Church
There will be a Good Friday service at 3 p.m. Friday at All Saints Parish, one mile off of Hwy. 371 on Barbeau Road, Brainerd. Easter Vigil Mass will be at 8 p.m. Saturday and Easter Sunday Mass will be at 9 a.m.
Area churches made donations for FoodShare Month
The joint parish of Maple Hill (rural Pine River) and Swan Valley (Leader) Lutheran Churches set a goal of reaching 1,000 dollars and pounds of food for the food shelves in Pine River and Motley during Minnesota FoodShare Month. They raised 1,704 pounds and dollars with Swan Valley collecting $810 and 226 pounds. Maple Hill raised $603 and 65 pounds.
Messy brunch planned
NISSWA - This year's spring time messy brunch will be 11:30 a.m. April 19 in the Celebration Center of Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa.

BAXTER - A community Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Light of the Lakes United Methodist Church in Baxter will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Baxter City Park.
French toast breakfast to be served
GARRISON - The Men's Crew from Light of the Cross Church, Garrison, will host a French toast breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon April 19. Light of the Cross is located two blocks west of the Super Valu in Garrison.
Easter breakfast, services planned

Easter services at Trinity in Brainerd
Three Easter services will be Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, with Pastor David P. Holte concluding "Living in the Shadow" series with "Life in the Shadow of the Cross."
Sunday worship will begin at 6:30 a.m. with a contemporary sunrise service and the lighting of the new altar cross. The Trinity AWE group will be performing.
There will be two festival traditional worship services with Holy Communion at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A combined musical presentation by the TLC Singers and the Trinity Bells will be the special music.
An Easter breakfast will be 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall served by the youth to raise funds for their trip to the 2009 National Youth Gathering in New Orleans in July.
Holy week services at St. Paul's Episcopal
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 408 N. Seventh St., Brainerd, will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m. Friday; Easter Vigil at 6:30 p.m. Saturday; and Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Divine Mercy Celebration to be held
AITKIN - A special observance in honor of the Feast of Divine Mercy will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin on April 19. Enthroning the icon will begin at 2 p.m. followed by Eucharistic Adoration, confession, a talk about the 3 o'clock Hour, Chaplet of the Divine Mercy with a Mass at 4 p.m. followed by dinner. The Cuyuna Range Council Knights of Columbus will sponsor the afternoon gathering.
