KERRVILLE, Texas -- Kenneth M. DeVine, 83, Kerrville, Texas, formerly of Brainerd, died Thursday, March 29, 2003, at Alpine Terrace Nursing Home in Kerrville.
He was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Watertown to John and Allie B. (Crawford) DeVine. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a letter carrier and then supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service. He married Ruth A. Dorsey on Sept. 14, 1974, in Brainerd. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 255, NARFE and Branch No. 9 of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth E. DeVine, Minneapolis, and Joel T. DeVine, Jackson, Wyo.; two daughters, Mary Jane Lingenfelter, Staples, and Nancy Faris, Kerrville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Douglas, Yuma, Ariz.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brainerd with the Rev. George Porthan officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley. American Legion Post No. 255 will provide military rites. Memorials are preferred to Gideons International or Cass Lake Episcopal Camp.
