A new association of two well known food concerns in this community was announced today by Ted and John Schaefer, owners of Schaefer's Markets in Brainerd, Nisswa and Little Falls and by Neil Elkey, vice president of operations, Red Owl Stores, Inc. Red Owl stores is selling its corporate store in Brainerd to Ted and John Schaefer.

John A. Nelson, Crow Wing County chairman for the Minnesota Society for Crippled Children and Adults, Inc., announced today that the Campfire Girls raised $344 for crippled children by selling lilies on the street corners of Brainerd.

Official seal of the city of Brainerd in use at the present pictures a farmer plowing a field with a gun leaning on a stump nearby. That motif years ago replaced Brainerd's first official cachet struck in 1882 that bore a pine cone and a locomotive.

The Elks annual Easter Ball will be given Monday evening, April 12, at the Citizen State Bank Hall. Under the direction of chairman Harry J. Carlson and his corps of committeemen all arrangements have been completed for a social event of magnitude.
