Three area grass fires reported

Three fires were reported in the area Wednesday.
At 1:42 p.m. a grass fire behind the DNR headquarters on Eagle Ridge Road spread to nearby woods. The Brainerd Fire Department and the DNR put out the blaze. Cause was not reported.
At 4:38 p.m. a controlled burn at the Gary Hanson residence in Daggett Brook Township got out of control and burned two outbuildings before being put out by Brainerd firefighters.
At 6:23 p.m. a fire was reported near the Paul Bunyan Trail in Unorganized Territory. Cause is unknown.
