Mooning over 'Grease'
Relive your glory years as a Greaser or Pink Lady when Aitkin High School students present "Grease." The popular musical -- sans swearing, smoking and drinking but including all your favorite songs -- will be presented 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at the AHS auditorium. Tickets are $5-$7.
"Saturday Night Live" veteran Jimmy Fallon attempts to make up for "Taxi" with "Fever Pitch." The Nick Hornby book about soccer fanatics already has been made into a movie, but this version puts a Boston spin on fandom as Fallon plays a man torn between his lifelong love (the Sawx) and his newfound love (Drew Barrymore). With the Farrelly Brothers directing, "Fever Pitch" may not hit a home run, but it should at least lace a double to the gap. It opens Friday at Movies 10 at Westgate in Baxter.
Central Minnesota's favorite Celtic musicians, Ring of Kerry, will perform 7 p.m. Friday at the Great River Arts Center in downtown Little Falls as part of the Unplugged series. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.
His act is magic
Scott Hansen's Comedy Gallery at the Rail offers something a little different this weekend: Nicholas Anthony, in addition to being a comedian, is also a magician. The Princeton resident has been a professional sleight-of-hand artist since age 14. He'll perform 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the downtown Brainerd club. Tickets are $5-$10. Ages 18 and older are welcome Friday; 21 and older Saturday.
Wiley (below, Matt Woolery) may be scared to enter the swamp and run into the Hairy Man, but theater fans shouldn't be: Central Lakes College Children's Theatre will stage the family-friendly play 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dryden Theatre on the Brainerd campus. Tickets are $3.
