Reasons why Music Matters
My proudest moments as a student at BHS were those that were connected to my involvement in choir. I knew then, as I know now, that I was a part of something magical; something unique. My sister before me was a part of Symphonic Band and A Cappella Choir. I watched her performances with awe and envy. I wanted to be a part of that tradition. Music is unusual that way. It has the rare ability to speak to your soul; to elevate you to a place you didn't know existed. What a gift! The research is clear. Students who take part in a fine arts program excel more than students in any other organizational group. It is as simple as that.
