CROSBY -- Harley Ogata, general counsel for Education Minnesota, announced at 12:15 p.m. today the Crosby-Ironton School Board and the teachers' union reached a tentative agreement to settle the strike that has lasted for two months.
A ratification vote was planned immediately by the teachers at strike headquarters in Crosby.
At 2 p.m., a special school board meeting is planned at Ironton City Hall. At 3 p.m. there will be a joint news conference between the union and the board under a flagpole at the high school.
When the tentative settlement was announced, the teachers at strike headquarters started screaming.
A mediation session lasted until 2 a.m. today.
