AITKIN -- Forrest H. Orr, 85, Aitkin, formerly of Norwood, Anoka and Mora, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.
He was born June 19, 1916, in Anoka County to Samuel and Nevada (Lovett) Orr. He graduated from Anoka High School and worked at the Cedar Creamery and operated a bread route. He married Doris Ione Johnson on Sept. 1, 1940, in Fridley. They operated a farm for a number of years and a frozen food route. He also sold arc welders while traveling on the road. They moved to Mora in 1959 and owned and operated Orr's Food Market until 1973. In 1973, they bought the Red Barn Antique Shop in Mora and later bought the Grandy Antique Store and operated it until the late 1980s. They retired to Norwood and he lived there until September of 2001, when he moved to Aitkin and resided at the Aicota Nursing Home. He was involved with All Saints Lutheran Church in Norwood, Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka and Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.
Survivors include a daughter, Jolene Schoeben, Aitkin; a son, Larry Orr, Salt Lake City; a sister, Carol Cox, Cedar; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His wife; a daughter, Bette; a sister, Helen; and three brothers, Everett, Howard and Lyman, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley with the Rev. Eric Aune officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Friends may call one hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
