PINE RIVER - The Miss Pine River Scholarship Pageant Committee announces the 27th annual pageant will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pine River-Backus Performance Gymnasium in Pine River.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The theme is "Aloha" and the pageant will feature a tropical setting.
Competing for the title of Miss Pine River 2006 will be Brianna Erickson, Jill Fey, Mollie Hedberg, Summer Lanz, Ashlee Perkins, Alyssa Sorg and Lyndie Walker. Miss Pine River 2005, Ann Tulenchik, and her court will be on hand to crown the new royalty. Brad Swanson will be master of ceremonies.

The pageant is sponsored each year by the Pine River Chamber of Commerce and individual contributors. Miss Pine River receives a $1,000 scholarship to the school of her choice to further her education. Contestants are judged on poise, personality and talent with personal interviews with judges carrying the most importance.
Miss Pine River and her court attend many area and regional parades, pageants and social functions throughout the year, acting as representatives of the Pine River Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and senior citizens and free for children 6 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door only.
