PIERZ -- Dolores Schmitt, 72, Pierz, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 14, 1929, in Little Falls to Stephen and Mary (Kleinschmidt) Bayer. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1946. She married Kenneth E. Schmitt on Sept. 6, 1952, in Pierz. She retired from St. Mary's Villa where she was employed as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Debra Wahl, Fergus Falls, Sandra Kapsner, Little Falls, Patricia Lindquist, Zimmerman, and Stephanie Fyten, Pierz; two sons, James Schmitt, Elk River, and Christopher Timmons, St. Cloud; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Florentine Hartmann, Pierz, and Collette Briggs and Dorothy Thielen, both of Sun City, Ariz.; and two brothers, Dr. Raymond Bayer, Pierz, and Thomas Bayer, Osseo.
Her husband and several brothers and sisters died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with the Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, with Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7 p.m., and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz.
