Motivational speaker and writer Bob Cushman will discuss his latest work, "Time Flies Whether You're Having Fun or Not," at a 6:30 p.m. book signing today at Bookin' It Bookstore in downtown Little Falls.
Billed as a "book of inspiration, hope and humor," the work has been compared favorably to Robert Fulghum's "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," the author said.
Cushman is familiar to area residents for his longtime association with PIPfest, a weekend retreat that teaches children how to deal with friends with chemical and other dependencies.
He'll be at the bookstore for about an hour.
Bookin' It is also the site for the Artists of Minnesota "Mini Show," a traveling exhibit of 47 original small-format paintings by artists from across the state. The show was expected to arrive this week at the Little Falls shop, where it will hang for about three weeks.
The exhibit includes a piece by Little Falls artist Angela Beaumont.
In student news, Concordia College reports that Evan Kuhn and Chad Nelson, both of Baxter, toured recently with the Concordia Choir, including 13 performances in several states.
Kuhn, a junior, is the son of Daniel and Susan Kuhn; and Nelson, a senior, is the son of Robert and Shari Nelson.
Works by several area women have been selected for Bemidji State University's annual "Dust & Fire" anthology published by the college's Women's Studies Program and Women's Center.

The area residents were among 46 women selected for the anthology, now in its 15th year of publication. For more information, call the Women's Studies Program at (218) 755-3919.
